I have a cast iron bell that is marked 1 and is a 1886. It is a large bell, maybe a dinner bell that might have been use on a farm or ranch. It comes from a company named The Bell Co. from Hillsboro, ohio, Crystal Metal. I also am looking for a price for it. Hard to find any information about it. [email protected]
Antique cast steel number 3 bell. Produced by C.S. Bell of Hillsboro, Ohio between 1875 and 1882. Bell is marked “C.S. Bell Hillsboro, O.” along the yoke. Bell comes with a mount that is currently unattached. Please note, this is an item that may be especially difficult to move and/or transport.
The Bell family continued to operate the business until 1974. Bells were made at the Hillsboro site until at least 1984. Another company, Prindle Station, claims to make bells today that are identical to the original bells made by C.S. Bell. A C.S. Bell Co. bell with a No. 2 yoke sold recently for over $250.
